*Aug 2019 Update*
As this continues to be my most popular post, I have taken time to modernize it, and attempted to clear up some of the confusion that has often presented itself in the comments. Thanks for your support!

Here is how to change text size and font on deviantART! :la:

:bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen: These methods :bulletgreen:WILL WORK:bulletgreen: in journals, literature entries, and your deviantID
:bulletred::bulletred::bulletred: These methods :bulletred:WON'T WORK:bulletred: in comments or deviation descriptions

:bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen: SIZE :bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen:
:pointr: To change the size of text, use the following expression, where x is replaced by numbers 1 through 7, within quotation marks, as shown:

TheDuckofPower

TDoP at 1
TDoP at 2
TDoP at 3
TDoP at 4
TDoP at 5
TDoP at 6
TDoP at 7

:bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen: FONT :bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen:
:pointr: To change the font of text, use the following expression, where y is replaced by the name of the font with applicable spaces between words of the font name (:bulletred: Read NOTICE at bottom about which fonts you should and shouldn't use :bulletred:):

TheDuckofPower

Times New Roman
Arial
Arial Black
Impact
Helvetica
Lucida Console

:bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen: SIZE & FONT :bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen:
:pointr: To change both size and font in a single expression, simply include size and face data together exactly as shown:

TheDuckofPower

Lucida Console at 5

NOTICE: Be careful to only use common fonts. Not all fonts display on all computers, so it is possible that your chosen font may look fine on your computer, but not display correctly on someone else's. To help reduce the chance of this error, here is a list of fonts common between :windows: Windows and :macos: Mac users:

www.ampsoft.net/webdesign-l/Wi…

This listing is very old, but I checked it against a newer list to make sure it was still good for 2019. I used it largely because it displays samples of the fonts themselves.

Hope y'all find that useful! :dummy: :boogie:

April 4th, 2023 Many of the methods outlined in this post no longer work, due to the sweeping changes DA has made to its site over time. This was originally posted in 2013, and if I even attempt to edit this journal at this point, all formatting tricks disappear (which is why this notice is not in the journal itself). This resource is a fragile relic of a bygone age, a testament to the "glory days" of a site when it held hidden gems for those who were willing to search for them...

That being said, SOME things may still work in SOME places, but it's a bit of trial and error, and I can't seem to keep up with it as DA continues to nerf more and more customizability features.

Sorry to get your hopes up... But hey, at least you can still* use the following expression to put a divider line in a deviation description:

*At time of writing...
